Kindergarten

The curriculum is designed to help children develop basic literacy and numeracy skills, such as letter recognition, phonics, counting, and basic addition and subtraction. Social-emotional learning is also a key component of the curriculum, with a focus on developing communication, problem-solving, and self-regulation skills.

  1. name recognition, spelling/writing full name correctly all 26 letters of the alphabet (read, sound out and write upper and lower case.)

  2. read at least 30 given sight words

  3. use letter-sound matches to decode simple words

  4. identify story elements: setting, character, title, author 

  5. count to 100

  6. skip count:  10, 5 to 100, and 2 to 20

  7. write numbers 0-9 correctly

  8. name numbers 0-20 out of sequence

  9. decompose numbers 0-20 into tens and ones

  10. add/subtract problems with sums less than 10

  11. identify more than, less than and same quantities 1-20

  12. count forward with given number to 100

  13. match quantities to 20

  14. order numbers 1-20

  3. Skip count by 10’s

  4. Identify, write, and sound out  letters M,A,S,P,T,C,N,F,B

  5. Read sight words:  I,like, the, and, see, come, to, me, with, my, what, now, are, you 

  6. Simple addition/subtraction – single digits 

  7. Decompose (separate) numbers 0-10 into two parts

  8. Identify story elements: setting, characters

  9. Name: M, S, A, T, C, P, N, F, B in upper and lower case

  10. Sounds: /m/, /s/, /a/, /t/,/c/, /p/, /n/, /f/, /b/

  11. Write: Mm, Ss, Aa, Tt, Cc, Pp, Nn, Ff, Bb

  12. Read sight words: I, like, the, and, see, we, a, to come, me, with, my, you, what, are, now 

  13. Write first name and last name correctly

3rd Nine Weeks
  1. Count to 75

  2. Skip count by 5’s to 100

  3. Skip count by 10’s to 100

  4. Count forward beginning with a given number (0-75)

  5. Write numerals:  0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9

  6. Name numerals 0 - 15 out of sequence

  7. Match quantities to numerals 0– 15

  8. Order numerals 0 – 15

  9. Compose numbers 11 – 15 into tens and ones

  10. Decompose (separate) numbers 0-15 into tens and ones

  11. Identify more than, less than,and same quantities 0 -15

  12. Identify the title and author of a book

  13. Identify story elements: title, character, setting, plot 

  14. Name and sound out: Upper and lower case: M, S, A, T, C, P, N, F,B, I, G, R, D, O, X, J,E
