Fourth Grade
In this grade, students continue to develop their reading, writing, and math skills. They also typically learn about science, social studies, and other subjects like art and music. The curriculum and all it's applications is aligned with the Pennsylvania state standards.

At the end of this course, a successful fourth grade student should be able to demonstrate knowledge of concepts/skills through working with literature (fiction, poetry, & drama), informational texts (articles, persuasive texts, historical texts, scientific and technical texts), writing foundations (text-dependent analysis, grammar usage, mechanics, style, tone, and effect, and through spelling grade appropriate words.

Math
At the end of this course, a successful fourth grade student should be able to demonstrate knowledge of concepts /skills through computation, problem solving, researching, analyzing, and effective communication.
Science​

At the end of this course, a successful fourth grade student should be able to learn to synthesize ideas, use evidence and demonstrate their understanding of key concepts and skills using the following competencies

Engage the mind with phenomena, linking what the students know to their own personal experiences

Explore concepts and ideas while constructing knowledge and building meaning

Explain and elaborate understanding by formulating ideas, arguments, and solutions using evidence

Elaborate and evaluate arguments by applying newly formed understandings and transferring knowledge to new situations
Social Studies
At the end of this course, a successful fourth grade student should be able to learn to synthesize ideas, use evidence and demonstrate their understanding of key concepts and skills in the area of social studies.
