At the end of this course, a successful fifth grade student should be able to demonstrate knowledge of

At the end of this course, a successful fifth grade student should be able to demonstrate knowledge of concepts/skills through working with literature (fiction, poetry, & drama), informational texts (articles, persuasive texts, historical texts, scientific and technical texts), writing foundations (text-dependent analysis, grammar usage, mechanics, style, tone, and effect, and through spelling grade appropriate words.
Science

At the end of this course, a successful fifth grade student should be able to demonstrate knowledge of concepts/skills through observations, taking measurements to produce data, recognizing differences among relationships, making hypotheses, and experiment while analyzing evidence.
Math
​
At the end of this course, a successful fifth grade student should be able to demonstrate knowledge of concepts/skills through computation, problem-solving, researching, analyzing, and effective communication.
